About
Welcome to Galerie d'Art Digitals, my unexpected favorite place nestled in an ordinary residential neighborhood. The locals took some time to adjust, not only to the gallery itself but also to the eclectic clientele it attracts. The ground and first floors are fully complete, while the second floor and attic are still under construction. No worries that the space might soon be too small, a rapid turnover of AI-generated art leaves with little concern so far and when then ill manage that problem to.
"I bring in a maximum of six works each month, and since I auction them immediately, I only need storage for six pieces at a time, the artwork arrives digitally, and by sending it directly to a print shop, there’s no need for additional storage. Many pieces are sold before they’re even printed, thanks to the high demand for these unique, carefully curated works.
Inside, the gallery is cleverly designed, with no more than three works displayed in each space. Glass doors and partitions give the impression of greater expansiveness, a sense of minimalism woven into a typical Groningen neighborhood. The design is the work of Bas Ausems from Engel Architecten, who loves intellectual challenges. I asked arround for a good architect and 3 others mentioned his name so i emailed him at the firm. When i told him the plan was to have the Galerie in a normal neighbourhood . it was narrow and not ideal for art perse , fired awayi fresh ideas i had to say yes . a very nice normal dutch guy that keeps getting new ideas while your talking.
Together, me and Bas have crafted a stylish, serene, yet vibrant space where the art speaks directly to its audience. It's an elegant blend of innovation and simplicity. The gallery is a must-see for anyone that comes near or plans on visiting the Netherlands, if only to Meet and have some of my fresh grinded coffee paired with a fresh homemade Mediovik (honey cake) i maje fresh cake in the morning. I hope that the Galerie will be a good edittion to Groningen’s, time will tell we shall see.
